Dr. M. S. Sahoo, Advisor at Regstreet Law Advisors, is a distinguished expert in financial market regulation with over four decades of experience in economic reforms and regulatory policy. He has held several key positions in India’s financial ecosystem, including Chairperson of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), Whole Time Member of SEBI, Secretary of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Economic Adviser to the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Board of Axis Mutual Fund Trustee Company , and Member of the Competition Commission of India (CCI). He has also been a Distinguished Professor at National Law University Delhi and and has served on the boards of Oriental Bank of Commerce, NSDL, and MDI.
Dr. Sahoo has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s capital markets—leading landmark reforms such as the dematerialisation of securities through the Depositories Ordinance, 1995, and the corporatisation and demutualisation of stock exchanges.
