About

Chandra Bhan Gupta, a Principal District and Sessions Judge (Retd.) and former Chairman, Permanent Lok Adalat assists the firm and its clients on our civil and criminal litigation, and dispute resolution practice. He is based at Jaipur, Rajasthan.

 

During his career from 1985 till 2019 in Rajasthan Higher Judicial services, he has presided over various civil and criminal courts in the state of Rajasthan. As a District Judge, he has presided over many arbitration matters including Section 34 Petitions under Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. As a sessions judge, he has presided over extensively criminal prosecutions including for economic crimes such as in the capacity of a Special Judge – Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) dealing with matters relating corruption against public servants, prosecuted by Crime Branch.

 

Chandra Bhan has also been a Special Judge – Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) / Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal (MACT) / Prevention of atrocities on Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) / Sati / Dacoity related Courts, Special Judge – Jaipur Development Authority (JDA).

 

He also served as Special Law Secretary in the Government of Rajasthan for the Legal Affairs Department.
