Amit Agrawal is an Of Counsel to Regstreet Law Advisors. He leads and provides strategic advice to the Firm on disputes.

 

Amit has significant experience on the original and the appellate side in matters concerning civil disputes, complex contract disputes, debt restructuring, mergers and demerger, insolvency and bankruptcy, and securities laws. He has represented a wide variety of clients in various high value disputes such as those relating to infrastructure contracts, tenders, real estate development, inheritance and succession, and shareholder disputes, resolution plan related disputes. In complex cases of medical negligence, he represents hospitals and doctors.

 

He routinely represents clients before the Supreme Court, High Courts, National Company Law Tribunals and Appellate Tribunal (NCLT and NCLATs). He also advises and represents clients before SEBI and Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) in matters concerning management and governance, securities fraud, unfair trade practices, insider trading etc. Amit also provides representation in arbitrations. Amongst others, Amit has in recent past represented clients in a variety of arbitrations such as commonwealth games related construction disputes, gas pricings disputes, insurance disputes (concerning consequential loss of profits policies, and material damage policies), and also generally in matters concerning setting aside of and enforcement of domestic and international arbitration awards.

 
Amit has more than 13 years of experience at bar. He is an alumnus of National Law School of India University Bangalore, and has previously worked with Amarchand Mangaldas and read in the chambers of Mr. Akhil Sibal, Senior Advocate. Amit has also been involved in editing Lexis Nexis publications on company laws, and has previously edited a legal commentary on SEBI Act, 1992 (Agrawal and Baby on SEBI Act, 1992).
