Ministry of Finance Appoints Whole Time Member of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)

The Central Government, Indian Ministry of Finance, Department Of Economic Affairs, Government Of India, has through a notification issued under Section 4(1)(d) and Section 4(4) of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992, read with Rule 3 of the SEBI (Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairman and Members) Rules, 1992, appointed Shri @Sandip Pradhan, Director General of Income Tax (Investigation), Pune, as a Whole-Time Member (WTM) of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Shri Pradhan has been appointed for a period of three years from the date he assumes charge of office, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Under the SEBI Act, Whole-Time Members play a critical role in regulatory decision-making, exercise of quasi-judicial powers, policy formulation, and supervision of securities markets, working alongside the Chairperson and other Members to ensure market integrity, investor protection, and orderly development of the securities market.
