𝐒𝐄𝐁𝐈 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐒𝐄𝐁𝐈- 𝐃𝐍𝐕𝐒

SEBI, through its Press Release dated April 3, 2025 (PR No.:17/2025) introduced a Document Number Verification System. SEBI has launched the SEBI DNVS considering the issue of transparency and aiming to ensure the verifiability of all the documents issued by SEBI.

𝑲𝒆𝒚 𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔:

Any physical communication by SEBI such as Letter, Notices, Show-Cause Notices and summons will bear an Outward Number which is Unique for every communication issued.

The verification process is envisaged through the authentication of a One- Time Password (OTP) which will be generated on the mobile number of the recipient(s) or any other person acting on behalf of the recipient(s), who may then enter the Outward Number as well as other credentials such as sender’s name, date of the communication and the name of the recipient to verify the issuance of such communication by SEBI.

Upon providing the correct details, SEBI system will generate the following response which specifically mentions that it does not constitute a verification of the contents of the letter/communication:

“𝘈 𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳/𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘚𝘌𝘉𝘐. 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴, 𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳, 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘦 𝘢 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳/𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘴 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘪𝘯.”

If the incorrect details are entered or the Outward Number is not found, the system will respond stating that no record found.
